Porter Cover Letter Examples

A Porter, which is similar to a custodian or janitor, is generally responsible for keeping facilities clean and orderly. Porters might also be referred to as cleaners or housekeepers. The main duties of a Porter include vacuuming, mopping and polishing floors; emptying trash; cleaning bathrooms; and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies. In addition, Porters might make minor plumbing or other types of repairs. Outdoor activities for Porters might include sweeping sidewalks, picking up debris from parking lots and shoveling snow. They should have a basic understanding of using common power tools as well as floor polishers and refinishers. Porters can work in such settings as office buildings, schools or apartment buildings.
